Pressing Concern Books & Rekkids was founded in Chicago in 2007 by Anne Elizabeth Moore to address the lack of small press outlets that support writing, comics, and other published work by young women and nonbinary folks in the Midwestern United States. Currently based in the Catskills, Pressing Concern focuses on nonfiction text and graphics works that point to how our bodies and physical locations shape our experience in the world. We print affordable editions of visual or textual publications in small, usually hand-made batches, although we occasionally release work in digital editions when necessary. We work with bigger-name creators, up-and-coming artists, and people who will never make anything again in their lives. To date we have published four print book titles, a poster series, a downloadable e-book, and several in a series of book marks. To date we have produced no audio recordings of any kind. As far as we can tell we are the world’s foremost purveyor of bespoke book marks.
